Unlocking Healing Through Self-Love and Self-Worth
Self-worth and self-love, as they relate to healing and manifestation work, are everything.
Over the years, I’ve come to understand that they are nearly everything in life itself. When either is lacking, it quietly bleeds into nearly every facet of our experience: our relationships, our choices, and our ability to receive, whether we’re aware of it or not.
In this post, we’ll explore how nurturing self-love and self-worth can open the door to deeper healing, along with gentle ways to begin cultivating them in your everyday life.
The Link Between Self-Love, Worth, and Healing
Self-love and self-worth quietly shape your energy, choices, and what you draw into your life.
Feeling worthy invites more healing energy to flow
When it comes to healing work, it’s not that a person cannot heal without healthy self-love or self-worth, because they can. It’s that having these qualities allows healing to happen faster and on a deeper level.
Sometimes, in order to increase healing and reduce suffering, a person needs to feel worthy of healing and worthy of things improving. Self-love often needs to be strengthened so that necessary changes can be made.
To be clear, what I’m sharing applies to many different kinds of issues, ailments, and forms of suffering that we experience as humans, even when the issue itself is not directly rooted in self-love or self-worth.
Self-love and self-worth shape our choices and perspectives
At other times, these two things are the root cause of suffering. A lack of self-love and self-worth has a way of coloring our perspectives and influencing the choices we make.
Depending on where this energy is located in the energy body, it can cause a person to attract recurring patterns over and over again. Some examples of this may include being taken advantage of or repeatedly finding oneself in abusive relationships. By working to improve self-love and self-worth, this kind of suffering can come to an end.
It’s also important to note that the mind is not always aware that these patterns are present. Especially if this is what a person has always known, these dynamics can become normalized. A person may want to change a pattern, yet not understand why nothing seems to shift.
Feeling unworthy dims your manifestation energy
As it relates to manifestation work, even for those who practice magic or spell work, self-love and self-worth are hugely important. How are we meant to manifest or transform our lives when feelings of unworthiness are present? Or when we desire something but don’t love ourselves enough to receive it?
For this type of work, I believe developing these qualities is essential. As with healing, it’s not that manifestation work cannot be successful without self-love and self-worth.
It’s that when seeds of self-doubt or feeling “not enough” are present, they can slow the process or create unnecessary obstacles. Purifying these internal blocks and cultivating healthy self-love and self-worth is therefore paramount.
Daily practices to help nurture self-love and self-worth
Now that we have a clearer sense of how self-love and self-worth shape our healing, I want to share a few simple exercises to help you begin nurturing them. These gentle practices can support and complement your healing work, therapy, and other supportive practices.
Mirror practice
Look in the mirror each day and tell yourself that you love yourself.
I know, I know. I’ve shared this practice with people before, and I can almost hear the eye rolls through the phone. Still, I wouldn’t share it if I didn’t know it worked, because it does.
In the morning, find a mirror somewhere you can have privacy, such as a bathroom. Look at yourself in the mirror and say out loud, “I love you.” The words need to be spoken out loud, as hearing yourself say them helps the brain begin to rewire and reprogram long-held beliefs.
At first, this practice can feel very awkward or uncomfortable. That’s completely normal. Over time, it becomes easier, and as you begin to notice subtle shifts in your inner world and your life, you may even start to look forward to it.
Consistency is key. This practice works best when done regularly, so consider placing a note or symbol on your mirror as a gentle reminder. Feel free to include other things such as “You’re beautiful”, “You are worthy of all good things in life”. Whatever it is you need, just make sure you always include “I love you”.
Crystals for energetic support
Pink crystals are wonderful allies when it comes to cultivating self-love and self-worth.
These gentle teachers provide energetic support that you can carry with you every day as you work on these qualities. It can be nice to have something on your person that carries the frequency that you are working to develop. It's like being held until you get there yourself. It’s incredibly comforting.
Some pink crystals to consider working with include:
Rose Quartz
Morganite
Pink Tourmine
Kunzite
I believe that pink crystals are at their best when worn as a pendant or necklace over the Heart Chakra (center of the chest). However, you can also wear a bracelet or ring on your non-dominant hand (to receive the energy into your system).
Carrying these stones in your pocket can be effective, or having them set out somewhere where you spend a lot of time, like a desk, is good too. Keep in mind you need to be close to the stone so your aura can mingle with the aura of the crystal.
Please remember to cleanse and charge your crystal and/or jewelry to turn it into a healing tool. All crystals have energy, but their energy can be increased manifold by charging them. This can always be done in a healing session together as well, it only takes a few minutes.
Working on self-love and self-worth is a journey
Nurturing self-love and self-worth is a journey, and it can bring up a lot along the way. Often, it sparks meaningful shifts in how you see yourself and the world around you. These two practices, using crystals for energetic support and the mirror practice, offer gentle, daily support as you navigate this work. Having simple, grounding practices to return to each day can help you feel steady and supported as those changes unfold.
It’s important to note that these issues are not always located in the Heart Chakra. They can be in any chakra of the body and where they’re located is very telling as to how they are showing up in one’s life.
If you feel you need support with this, please feel free to reach out for an Energy Healing Session. Doing psychological healing can be a great way to improve these issues. For when we change the chakras - we change our lives.
